What you will do

As our new Senior Legal Counsel, you will take on an important role in Cadeler’s Legal team - reporting directly to the Head of Legal - providing strategic legal support and advice across the organization. You will be drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements within all business areas, including supply time contracts, installation and construction contracts, procurement and supply chain agreements, offshore repair agreements, license agreements and other business-related agreements and supporting documents, and providing guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, risks and opportunities.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Driving standardization and process improvements in collaboration with other internal teams, including Contract Management and Procurement.
• Liaising with and managing external counsel.
• Supporting the business in identifying legal liabilities and risks and proposing appropriate solutions.
• Supporting the business in disputes and litigation. 
• Maintaining corporate housekeeping and ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate governance, including advising on regulatory matters.
• Supporting new country entrance and presence, including leading legal due diligence.

You may be who we are looking for if:

• You are a commercially-minded and collaborative lawyer, who has great interpersonal and communication skills and takes pride in bridging issues between departments.
• You have a “can-do”-attitude, and looking for solutions comes naturally to you. You feel comfortable at analyzing and balancing risk and opportunities and thinking creatively. You have the experience and judgment necessary to offer solutions and own your decisions.
• You possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize issues.
• Integrity is part of your DNA, and you have a demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.

We think you will be a good match if you:

• Hold a master’s degree in law. 
• Have 5+ years of experience, ideally having spent some time in private practice.
• Have experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably within the shipping, offshore or construction industries. 
• Have experience structuring and executing special projects across multiple jurisdictions. 
• Are fluent in English, oral as well as written.
• The ideal candidate would be based in either Denmark (Copenhagen) or the UK (Norwich area).
