Do you have high environmental focus and want your skills to have a real valuable impact on securing our sustainable future?
Created: 16/06/2022
Closing date for applications at 04/07/2022

Cadeler is the global partner in offshore wind farm construction and maintenance. We are part of an industry that is now, more than ever, both relevant and in high demand. As our industry continues to grow, so do we! We are now looking for a new talented Senior Electrical Engineer/Specialist, who can take the lead in designing the technical solutions for our vessels in the future. This role is a unique opportunity to join our professional team in an ambitious, respected, and fast-growing company, operating in a green industry with “state-of-the-art” assets.

You will be working in a company where safe operations, sustainable solutions, energy efficiency and environmental footprint is key to everything we do. You will work from our head office in Copenhagen, or from our satellite office in Vejle. Traveling to fabrication sites or onboard our vessels will also be necessary at times.

Who are we looking for, and what will you do?

You will be part of our Engineering Development Department where you will perform plan approval and evaluation of technical solutions from shipyards and equipment suppliers in connection with new buildings or upgrade projects. You will take care of technical negotiations and writing up specifications for asset upgrades, as well as optimisations of the vessels control- and automation systems.

You will participate in tender preparations and in the selection of machinery and mechanical components for our vessels. You will need to be well-organised and structured as you will act as Project Manager for ad hoc electrical engineering projects. Ensuring that assigned tasks are managed in accordance with statutory requirements, relevant industry standards and Company procedures, will be a main priority in your daily work. You will need good collaborative skills, as you will be in dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders.

There will be plenty of new exiting projects going forward: The Engineering Development department is currently managing design and plan approval for three state of the art newbuilds, two Main Crane replacements on our O-Class vessels and other projects.

Being a Cadeler means you will have a natural interest and care for the environment and our shared mission to speed up the green energy transition. Your environmental considerations and the safety of our people and the planet will be a key priority in you daily work.

We are happy to see many of the following skills and achievements:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of working experience from the Marine or Off-shore/wind industry in similar capacity
  • Knowledge of DP systems
  • Familiar with FMEA
  • In depth experience with HV/DC power grids, frequency drives and onboard energy storage systems
  • Innovative / Problem solving /Solution oriented approach
  • A natural team player, but also able to steer own projects successfully from initiation to successful conclusion through a “Take the Lead” attitude.
  • Able to combine a technical mindset with commercial reality and client requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent communicator on all levels within an organisation
  • Speak and write in the English language at a high professional level
