Project Engineer for the offshore wind industry

We are now looking for a Project Engineer who will play a crucial part in a team working with the installation and transportation of offshore wind monopile foundations.

What will you do?

As our new Project Engineer – Foundations Transportation and Installation (T&I), you will be responsible for managing engineering scopes for the execution of offshore wind turbine foundation installations. The first assignment will be related to the installation of monopile type foundations with our new state of the art F-class vessel and other supporting vessels. Your tasks will include:

  • Responsible for the delivery of specific engineering packages related to heavy installation equipment as well as installation methods, and report to the Project Engineer Manager
  • Lead the technical delivery of installation equipment including involvement in specifications, subcontractor negotiation and selection, fabrication review, FAT & SAT
  • Lead specific technical scopes during mobilization and offshore operations, with support of onsite team
  • Liaise with the Project Engineering Manager, the Project Management team, other Package Managers, Contract Manager and relevant inhouse departments to ensure engineering deliverables are in conformity with client contractual requirements, own company- and industry standards and legislation
  • Manage all engineering related to the relevant package, coordinate the work with subcontractors and clients on all engineering and technical issues
  • Overall responsibility for the assigned package budget and delivery of projects within schedule, aligned with all project procurement activities, packages and fabrication
  • Feedback on changes in engineering resources allocated to the packages, internally and externally, and contributing to the Department resource plan
  • Ensure that the highest level of health, safety and environmental considerations are  always considered during design and execution of the project engineering scope of work
  • Ensure quality control and assurance of the engineering process for the execution of the project
  • Represent Cadeler towards clients, subcontractors and other organizations in relation with the assigned scope
  • Take leading role in technical design review, site visits, HAZID/HAZOP and Lessons learned sessions

Who are we looking for?

As a successful candidate, you will solve tasks with a positive can-do attitude as your main character. You will set high standards while feeling comfortable in handling numerous tasks simultaneously and effectively deliver on a wide variety of assignments. The position requires high versatility in the problem solving and engineering scopes, requiring a strong teamwork mindset in reaching out to all relevant competences in-house or externally.

The successful candidate will also be expected to proactively contribute to the development of internal processes, guidelines, and standards for the offshore wind turbines foundations construction.

Qualifications and skills

  • Experience in offshore construction engineering, managing multi-discipline subjects and interfacing with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience within offshore renewables and foundations construction projects would be an advantage
  • Experience onboard construction vessels during offshore operations and/or during mobilizations
  • Good commercial and risk awareness, towards safe and cost effective solutions
  • Experience in technical risk identification and mitigation
  • Proven track record in working within time/budget constraints
  • Leadership in engineering scope across disciplines, stakeholders and organizations
  • Ability to prioritize the tasks and workload within foreseen and unforeseen priorities
  • Leadership in structuring workflows and standardizing processes
  • Bachelor / Master degree (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering)
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Standard software packages such as Outlook and MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint etc.)
  • AutoCAD
  • Any other design software is a plus
