Corporate Counsel - Offshore Wind Industry
Multiple locations Created: 25/03/2025
Closing date for applications at 20/04/2025

Are you passionate about providing corporate legal advice, tackling a wide range of transactional, and identifying creative legal solutions to commercial problems? Are you interested in developing and deploying your skills and expertise within the asset-heavy shipping/offshore wind sector towards securing a sustainable future based on renewable energy? Do you want to be part of a growth journey and part of a company with an informal can-do attitude? Then you might be the Corporate Counsel we are looking for!

Cadeler is a global partner in offshore wind farm construction and maintenance, and we are part of an industry that is now, more than ever, both relevant and in high demand. As our industry continues to grow, so do we!

What you will do

As our new Corporate Counsel, you will take on an important role in Cadeler’s Legal team, reporting directly to the Head of Legal. You will provide legal guidance across the organization, with a focus on general corporate matters including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and corporate / commercial agreements. You will advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, risks and opportunities while gaining exposure to the renewable energy sector.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Advising internal stakeholders on legal risks, corporate strategy and operational matters, all in a transactional environment.
  • Assisting with corporate governance and compliance matters, including regulatory filings and corporate housekeeping across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Supporting cross-border legal matters, including entity formation and due diligence for market entry.
  • Contributing to process improvements in collaboration with other internal teams.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including procurement contracts, service agreements, licensing agreements, and NDAs.
  • Liaising with and managing external counsel.

To succeed in this role

You may be who we are looking for if:

  • You are a commercially-minded and collaborative lawyer, who has great interpersonal and communication skills and takes pride in bridging issues between departments.
  • You have a “can-do”-attitude, and looking for solutions comes naturally to you. You feel comfortable at analyzing and balancing risk and opportunities and thinking creatively. You have the experience and judgment necessary to offer solutions and own your decisions.
  • You possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize issues.
  • Integrity is part of your DNA, and you have a demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.

We think you will be a good match if you:

  • Hold a master’s degree (or local equivalent) in law.
  • Have 3+ years of experience, ideally having spent some time in private practice.
  • Have experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts in English. Experience within the shipping, offshore or construction industries is helpful, but not required.
  • Have experience structuring and executing on projects across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Are fluent in English, oral as well as written.
  • The ideal candidate would be based in either Denmark (Copenhagen) or the UK (Norwich area).
