Senior Project Manager to lead New Build Project of two of the most capable vessels for the offshore wind industry 

Cadeler has signed a USD 651 million contract with COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry to deliver two new X-Class vessels for installation services, operation and maintenance work on offshore wind farms. The new vessels are developed in close partnership with GustoMSC and are a bespoke version of the NG-20000X-G design, capable of operating at some of the most difficult sites globally and with the largest equipment in the industry.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead this exciting project with the aim to deliver the two state-of-the-art Windfarm Installation Vessels in 2024 and 2025.

The main day-to-day duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Manage the New Build Project of Cadeler’s two X-Class Windfarm Installation Vessels
  • Manage the project team, including suppliers and site inspection team members
  • Ensure project requirements, timelines and budgets are met in accordance with scope of work
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Management, Technical Department, Engineering Department, Sales Department, Vessel Crew, Clients and Suppliers)

Cadeler is currently undergoing a transition from its status as a marine service provider operating on time charters, emerging as a mature contractor capable of delivering more complex offshore wind construction projects. As the wind industry is rapidly growing and the complexity of projects increasing, Cadeler is facing an exciting phase of development with a strategy to take on more complex scopes within the development of offshore wind farms and the position offers a great opportunity for an ambitious candidate interested in pursuing a career in an exciting growing company in the offshore wind industry.

The position is based in our office in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a Senior Project Manager, you will also be required to travel to locations other than the office address above, if necessary, for carrying out duties associated with the position. The amount of travel days estimated for this position is approximately 50 days per year.


Successful Candidate

As Cadeler is expanding the fleet significantly to meet the market demands and to further develop the newly public listing of the company, the new build project is of major strategic importance to Cadeler. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with more than 15 years of shipbuilding, marine construction, offshore wind or oil & gas experience. The successful candidate will be structured and disciplined, with an innovative approach towards project execution and a strong technical profile.

As the preferred candidate, we expect you to have most of the following qualifications:

  • A BSc or MSc in Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Minimum 15 years of experience within shipbuilding or large marine or oil & gas construction management.
  • Strong focus on HSE in project planning and execution
  • A natural capability for managing suppliers and bridging issues between departments, and the ability to prioritize by importance, risk and commercial impact
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate and negotiate commercial and technical matters effectively to audiences at all levels
  • Experience in execution projects under BIMCO Newbuild contract
  • English fluency, both written and spoken
